On Sunday 17 October, you can experience the band, together with the great soloist Tracee Meyn from Los Angeles.
Magnolia Jazzband was started in 1972 by trombonist Gunnar Gotaas, and is one of the few bands playing New Orleans Revival Jazz. They are well known through their performances at jazz festivals and many church concerts across the country.
Tracee Lewis Meyn was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She has sung with various groups, for film and television in the USA, toured in Europe, as well as sung with Steve Vai, Kenny Loggins, Paul Anka and Norman Brown. Tracee has even sung “Hey Jude” on the Hollywood Bowl stage with Paul McCartney!
Tracee moved to Oslo in the spring of 1999 and has since worked with various artists such as Ravi & DJ Løv, Noora Noor, Håkon Graf, King Midas, Amulet, Rune Andersen, Madrugada and Kerrs Pink and main band 3-11 Porter.
After the concert, there is a jazz café in the congregation hall with sales of coffee and waffles – and more jazz music! Tickets for the concert also give access to the jazz café.
